Does scrolling through Instagram and seeing picture perfect kitchens have you worried about how you’re going to sell your house when all the buyers out there probably want the Instagram version?

What if I told you that you don’t have to spend $30,000 on an Instagram perfect kitchen remodel to attract buyers when selling your home but there are a few things you can do that will give your space a mini facelift and some style!

-TIP #1: CABINET HARDWARE

  • This one is SO easy and adds some major style points to your kitchen space! Swap out your cabinet hardware - or if you don’t have any, PLEASE get some!
  • You can get new cabinet pulls for $5-7 each (maybe even less on Amazon).
  • Make sure to measure the distance between a pull’s screw holes before you buy them. Not all pulls are the same size!

-TIP #2: BACKSPLASH

  • You know when you see pretty pictures on Instagram of someone’s kitchen and you think it just looks so bright and fresh? It’s probably their backsplash.
  • A backsplash can add so much to your kitchen - it’s literally a SPLASH of style. Be sure to pick something more neutral if you’re thinking of selling.
  • Not sure what’s trendy? Watch any home remodeling show on HGTV or follow a few interior designers on social media and you’ll find out really quick!
    • Hint: Subway tile has been super popular for awhile and I don’t think it’s going anywhere anytime soon. It looks clean, classic and brightens up the kitchen.

-TIP #3: BUY A RUG

  • A rug in the kitchen??? YES - a rug in your kitchen. No, I don’t mean the huge 8x10 rug you would put in your living room.
  • I mean a runner style rug you could put in front of your sink or in-between your island and your wall cabinets.
  • They bring a warm, sophisticated look into a kitchen and they’re really popular right now.
    • Pro Tip: Choose something with a color or pattern and that can handle the occasional spill or stain (because it is your kitchen after all).

Which tip will you be applying to your kitchen?
